Now this is when each PPV becomes WCW/nWo, right? If not then good, but I think we’re getting to that era. A Hollywood chant breaks out before Hogan hits a. It was the first PPV presented by the nWo. We got a shocking tag title change, decent ladder match, and whatever that main event was. With the nWo angle riding high, the WCW took a gamble on this show. The first 2/3 of the card was pure filler, literally nothing important (only good thing was Big Bubba running over Hugh Morris). I heard the show was bad, I looked at the card beforehand and wasn’t too hyped, and this certainly was a bad show. nWo Souled Out JanuCedar Rapids, IA Five Seasons Center The current WCW champs were as follows: WCW World Champion: Hollywood Hogan () WCW U.S. They then spray paint The Giant “nWo 4 Life” and pose to close the show. He does this 2 more times, and then The Giant hits a Chokeslam on Patrick! Of course this brings out the rest of The nWo, who all get choke-slammed until Eric Bischoff gives Hogan a guitar, which he hits The Giant with multiple times. Nick Patrick goes down to count, but stops before he hits 3. Hogan hit a body slam (which The Giant massively helped with) and then the leg drop, but Giant got up immediately and hit Hogan with a Chokeslam. Lots of boring work and nothing of importance until the ending. They first touched with 15 minutes left in the show, and much like the rest of the card, there just wasn’t much to this. I thought this had potential, but that was my first mistake. Wallstreet, Scott Norton, and Bubba Rogers, all of whom got their own singles matches on this show. Sure, big names like Hogan, Hall, and Nash were on the card, but so were M. More stupid Miss nWo interviews, one chick was super super ugly, like where did they get her from? She literally made the dude reread a question because “I can’t hear you”. To make the self-indulgent spectacle that was Souled Out 1997 even worse, it was becoming evident that the nWo had become more than a tad diluted. Bagwell got a ton of “Bagwell sucks chants” and picked up the win with a version of a blockbuster from off the top rope. Sure, it was cool for the time and was something new, but it was shaky and didn’t look the best. I hate the stupid new camera they’ve been using. Rigs looked pretty good on Clash of the Champions, but this match was so slow, and super super boring. These two used to team together, but that imploded when Bagwell joined the nWo. The crowd didn’t care about this at all, and it was one of the only filler matches that actually made sense.

Why is there someone saying loser on the mic throughout parts of this match? Even Bischoff didn’t know how to explain it (we later learn it’s the Loser Meter that gets played anytime the WCW guys get beat down or something like that).
